Praying with Victor Hugo and Les Miserables

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

In Victor Hugo’s “Les Miserables,” we can see Jean Valjean and Inspector Javert as representations of law versus grace. In this workshop, we’ll contemplate Hugo’s life, discuss what drove him to write this novel, and learn about how this book affected society when it was written. We’ll read from the book and watch clips from various film representations. As we reflect on this war between law and grace, we’ll learn how it relates to our own journeys with God.
